The Hilhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market is proud to be an Approved Alberta Farmers’ Market. In addition to the guidelines laid out through this provincial program, our core values are reflected in our Market Manifesto.
The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market Manifesto:
1) The Hillhurst Sunyside Farmers’ Market exists primarily to provide a source of good quality, good tasting food and goods for the inner city community.
2) The focus will be on providing a venue for local farmers, food creators, and artisans.
3) Every effort will be made to have items that are organic, or transitioning to organic.
4) The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market will have a large variety of vendors, encompassing a broad spectrum of products.
5) The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market shall exist as a gathering space for the community, and will be a desired destination beyond just food. Weekly events, a jumping castle, buskers, and other accessory items will help contribute to this.
6) Patrons should be drawn not just from the local communities, but from all central communities, and light rail transit commuters.
