Local 201

I just came back from Local 201 this morning, and once again, I was blown away.  2.5 hours, 23 speakers – whew! By the end of the presentations, I was completely overwhelmed with the staggering abundance of really exciting projects going on in and around the city around securing and maintaining a sustainable local food network. From community supported agriculture (CSA’s) to backyard bees, urban chickens to a possible community garden at City Hall, a lot of cool things are afoot.

Loved the format.  Quick and informative – a LOTTA ground was covered by the 23 presenters in their five minute segments.  And then being about to talk about all these projects with them, and make great connections over amazing local food – incomparable!

I know a few exciting opportunities may come to our community out of this morning.  Stay tuned for more info on that!
