The end of the 2009 market was small and quiet. However, we did have a chance to garner some feedback from vendors and visitors in attendance at the market on those last few weeks in September / October.
Overwhelmingly we heard from the people who came to the market that YES, we want the market to continue, and YES, it is a valuable resource to the community. Many people didn’t realize the market was back, and the feedback indicated a definite shortfall in the marketing of the FM. I personally agree 100% on all counts.
Those dear courageous vendors who hung by us our first year back – well, frankly I was a bit apprehensive about asking for their feedback. However, I found they were all very supportive of our “baby steps” year. Again, marketing was a big concern, as was the number and variety of other vendors, and consequently, shoppers.
Overall, we heard “good to have the market back” but “next year needs to be BETTER” with major capital letters.
